‘The Travel Bug flew into Fort Worth, Texas and thought he’d have a little rest and some breakfast, catching up with the local bugs. These are the fascinating facts about Fort Worth he uncovered!…’

JFK

President John F. Kennedy made his very last public speech in Fort Worth in November 1963, before travelling to Dallas for his fateful open-top car ride in Dealey Plaza.

Travel Bug thought he looked like quite a good President.  Maybe a lot better than the current guy with the funny hair and orange face.

Bonnie and Clyde

Infamous sweetheart bandits, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, once used the Fort Worth Stockyards as a hideout when they were on the run.

They stayed at the Stockyards Hotel in Room 305, which is still on the same site today.  Travel Bug doesn’t much like robbers, but he does like a nice hotel room.

Museums

Fort Worth has a massive 5 internationally recognised museums. This is more than anywhere else in the South-west.

Travel Bug didn’t manage to visit any of the museums while he was in Fort Worth.  This was because he noticed a sign in the Stockyards for Goat Yoga classes and he decided that sounded like far more fun. And he wasn’t wrong.  Who knew goat yoga could be SO relaxing??

Do you have any other fascinating facts about Fort Worth to share with Travel Bug?

Hasta pronto, amigos…
