‘With the start of a global lockdown to halt the spread of Covid-19, there’s not much to do at present but stay home…
Lockdown in North Wales involves working on a full time basis as a key worker, but not having to go to previous lengths to dress in traditional ‘office attire’. This is a good thing (let’s face it, it’s one of the only good things going on at the moment…). Pre lockdown, when I was customer facing, I was kitted out in dresses our smart trousers and tops.
Just now? I’m not doing that so much. With no customers to see and very few colleagues to interact with, laziness has set in and comfort has risen to the top of my wish list for work clothes. To be honest, it’s pretty much the rule I stick with at home, so it’s hardly a massive departure.
The weather has been pretty changeable, so I’m trying to strike a balance between looking towards Summer, while still dealing with the fact I live in Wales. With this in mind, I’m still balancing cosy, home style with the thought that, once lockdown is over, I am going out. And I mean I’m going OUT out. These are my recent choices:
Pink Oversized Knit Jumper
This gorgeous pink jumper is cozy enough for cool Spring mornings when I’m having coffee in the garden. I love the bright colour, but also the fact that’s it’s oversized and can be worn with a multitude of different bottoms. Leggings are my go-to if I’m heading out for groceries (and that’s pretty much as far as we can go these days), as well as knowing it’s perfectly acceptable to match up with skinny jeans for a casual work day.
Teal Oversized Side Split Knitted Jumper
This oversized jumper has become a fast favourite (and it’s so popular on the site, it’s now sold out in my preferred teal colour). I had my eye on it for a while before placing an order. I love the fact it’s longer length, so I can team it up with leggings and tennis shoes. If I’m feeling slightly fancier, I can match it up with thick black tights and knee high boots. It’s the perfect sweater to wear in a variety of ways and works well in warmer weather in Wales when there’s always the chance that things will cool down quickly!
Mint Long Sleeve Ribbed Bodycon Dress
OK, so this isn’t really lockdown material (although what I do on a Saturday night in the privacy of my own home is my business…). This beautiful pastel mint ribbed bodycon dress is a purchase I made in the hope of finally leaving the house for more than working and shopping when lockdown ends. This gorgeous mint green dress is way to glam to dress down, but it’s super comfortable.
White Pleated Long Sleeve Shirt Dress
I already own and love the navy version of this pleated long sleeve shirt dress. I love the fact it looks like one of my husband’s shirts. His don’t have the big splits, though… I can wear this to work, as long as it’s properly buttoned, of course, and teamed up with skinny tapered-leg trousers. It also works so well dressed up with heels. I often wear mine with a black vest top underneath, with black leggings and black knee high boots. It’s a great combination of smart, sexy and comfortable.
